Why Buy Cruelty-Free?

Why should you pay attention to the products you buy for your home? I mean, it's just shampoo and hand soap, right? There's no animal cruelty in that! Wrong! So many companies test their products on animals before deeming them safe for purchase by human consumers. Here are some good 'ol facts for you to bite into

Millions of animals like mice, rats, cats, dogs, and rabbits are being held in small cages in laboratories all over the world even though non-animal tests are widely available. These non-animal tests are cheaper, quicker, and more relevant to humans.

Animals are purposefully given painful and deadly diseases in order for humans to gather more information about the disease. A lot of times, these tests don't actually provide the needed information because the animals that are being tested on aren't responding the same way to the disease that humans would.

A company tests their products by putting a chemical/ingredient into the animals eyes or rubbing it onto their skin. They are also forced to inhale massive quantities of a substance until a reaction happens. They are given such high doses of the product that it often causes the animal to have seizures, bleeding, and severe pain until they ultimately die.

What can you do to end animal testing? You can stop purchasing products by companies who conduct animal tests. Write an email to the companies explaining why you won't be purchasing their products. Look at the labels on the back of your products to see if the company tests on animals. You will see something that either says "Cruelty-Free", "Leaping Bunny Certified", or "Not Tested on Animals". Click Here to find out if the products you buy test on animals.
