The Perfect Waffle

Whether it be a Sunday morning tradition, or an every day breakfast treat, waffles are like having dessert for breakfast!


First of all, get yourself a good waffle iron. I own the Cuisinart waffle maker and it's a game changer. It cooks them to perfect golden brown-ness every time, so having a good waffle iron is important.

Makes 4 waffles

INGREDIENTS:

*1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

*4 1/2 tbs sugar

*3 tbs canola oil

*1 tsp vanilla extract

*1 cup non-dairy milk (I used vanilla soy milk)

*1 1/2 tbs baking powder

*1/8 tsp salt

*blueberries/strawberries/chocolate chips (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Mix all your ingredients in a bowl until there are no lumps

2. Use a spray grease to mist the waffle iron.

3. Pour in enough batter to just cover the the waffle iron.

4. Cook!


Now for the toppings! I like to use peanut butter and pure maple syrup (cheap syrup contains milk, yuck). You can top with blueberries or even add them to the batter before you cook them! You can even add a spoonful of Coco Whip if you're feeling extra fancy!
